I imagine that this is possible with very strong evidence showing a subsisting and continuous relationship over the 5 year period. Any reason why a RC was not applied for? I am curious to know how the non-EEA family member (if there is one) has managed to satisfy administrative formalities requiring...

I don't know if they'll accept a certified copy...Ask a solicitor etc I recently learnt that the UKBA does accept certified copies of ID and supporting documents for naturalisation applications, but doesn't readily publish this on the UKBA site I imagine they would rather prefer leading us to belie...

It would be good to know if people could write down their experience rather then calling them since it will be a clear waste of time if there is no intention of booking appointment and plus if you have not received interview letter there is no point calling them either. Checking the passport applic...

Shelandpete, have you made any progress with this?

The Swiss can be quite pig-headed, but with an evidence-based and convincing counter argument they will swiftly put things right.

Do let us in on what's been happening.

Where do you and your spouse reside? Is your Schengen visa a residence permit by virtue of your r/ship with your EU spouse? Or is it a Schengen tourist visa strictly meant for just that - tourism? If the former, I believe you can contract (temporary/unpaid...) work in any Schengen state for the peri...

French SS is equivalent to the NHS, covers just as many things if not more. I can definitely show that I was covered by French SS during my years of study in the UK. Then you are sorted. If you can get a letter or statement from the French SS (translated in English if necessary) stating the extent ...

Are you the EEA national?

If so, then the EEA3 NOT the EEA4 form is the applicable one to fill out.

What does French SS provide? The UKBA would need to see that you either had CSI in the UK covering your years of study or the equivalent (state or private) covering the same period from France.

Good for you Flickers!

This is the 2nd good report of quick processing times i've heard of in the last month.

Perhaps this is the UKBA's last ditch attempt to avoid going down in the books as an utterly incompetent government department.

Too late I say but well done none the less!

Relax! There is nothing to worry about.

This is an understandable error which proof of your start date and cover letter will clear up in a second.

You can either apply to the UKBA for a replacement certificate (if you can delay your application for a few weeks) or include a cover letter explaining the situation and detailing (as much as you can remember) when and where she naturalised. Does she have a British Passport? You may also include this.

There is no profitable discussion to be had here on this issue.

If you feel so strongly about the redundancy of counter-signatories, direct your complaint to the IPS.
