There is no such thing as final stage . Last stage is "submitted to minister" and the one before is known as "advanced stage" . Its pretty common for files to go back from "submitted to minister" to "advanced stage" , it is usually when there is a small issue like if case is due to deferred for not ...

Sorry I should have cleared this . Recent photographs will be used which ever is more recent , if you have GNIB done after sending the pics then GNIB photos. If no recent GNIB is done then pic you submitted wiil be used . With ref to @darr I think he reported they confirmed later they dont need phot...

Approval from April 2015 do not require photographs . Pictures will be assigned from GNIB record .

Yes but EU5 will only give him stay till end of his five years . I understand he is more concerned about what to do after that .

So 2 to 3 weeks are enough for EU1 if applied before date , that is to get the first temporary 6 months .
