It's within their guidelines, the last year 88 days was spent outside the UK or 90 if you count the day you leave and enter (but that's not how they calculate it)

Re: Fastest Naturalisation Application Processing Time

Seeing that those who had their naturalisation done very quickly are all Tier 1 and Indian so are they processed differently as they are already in the system due to their Tier 1 status? Are applications where it is due to being married to a BC always more scrutinised? It all depends on the individ...

Re: Fastest Naturalisation Application Processing Time

7 days, my word. Why is there such a disparity?

How is it possible it can be done in that short time period, something doesnt seem right when the variance is so much.

Fastest Naturalisation Application Processing Time

So who holds the unofficial record of the fastest AN application from the time that biometrics are taken to the time its approved. Discounting the printing and posting of the letter. I saw someone have their AN completed within 14 days. Anyone beat that? Khush Eligibility criteria: 5 years+ 1yr ILR ...

Re: Points on licence - NCS told to wait

The points are issued by the court as an administrative duty, technically it is a criminal conviction but its 3 points which everyone has. Just declare it - nothing to worry about. As to evading the train fair, if that is a criminal conviction then I doubt the HO will look on that kindly. Its very e...

Re: Tax doc for past IT contracting

I think the requirement is that you must keep your limited company records for 6 years so the onus is on you to prove your income.

Companies House will have your record for your company or ask the accountant you used. Didn't they email you a copy for your reference?

Re: Parking tickets and refusal

So were the parking tickets issued incorrectly or did he just not decide to pay and now you thought you best try to pay before a BC application? Not sure what it is your asking. If the tickets were legitimate then why didnt you pay? If they were not why didnt you contest them? Why would you search f...

Maybe they had some trouble processing your payment and it took a couple of attempts. I submitted mine at NCS on the 9th March also and I got the acknowledgement and biometrics letter on the 23rd. Glad all is sorted for you now 8) looks like they process applications in batches ie taking payment an...

Re: Applying for British Passport online

Isn't it quicker to apply using check and send and then paying for special delivery return of your foreign passports?

I think most will be sending in their foreign passport and their naturalisation certificate and do you really want them documents being handled by Royal Mail standard service?

Re: Travelling After Citizenship Ceremony

Looks like we are in a similar position, we will just have to wait for the citizenship certificate to come through. So will travelling to the US and back be ok on a US passport and then showing a british citizen cert at customs? Or will we need to get the UK passport as well. I messed up not applyin...

Re: UK Passport Interview Questions Data

Now once we get approval and attend the ceremony how long after is the Certificate issued? Now she has a US passport which she can travel on but will need some sort of evidence when she returns. 1) The ILR will be redundant as she has citizenship. 2) Without a citizenship certificate will she be abl...

UK Passport Interview Questions Data

So what happens to the data they collect from the Passport Interview? 1) Is it deleted or do you make a request to have it deleted? 2) Also as to Biometric Data for naturalisations is that deleted as well or must you write in to get that deleted. 3) Can you book a one week fast track for first time ...

Re: UK Passport

Kankerot - I believe the holes punched indicate it has been cancelled. Anyway, why are we speculating? Why don't you just apply for the British passport by only supplying your current US passport? If HMPO need anything else, they will come back to you. Just waiting for the outcome of the naturalisa...

Re: UK Passport

I think you can get away with not sending expired passports. I only sent my current foreign passport and had no issues with HMPO. Besides, my expired passports have their ends on the cover cut off. That means, they are cancelled. All the best. So the US passport has holes punched into it which is t...

Re: UK Passport

It is the process. You need to send the passport as proof of identity and any checks they do. The interview is to confirm that you are the person you say you are on the form and the questions are generally only about things the applicant will know mostly based on what she completed on the form and ...

Why does she need to send in her US passport? What relevance does that have?

What is the point of the interview? Just collecting extra info for the government? The NCS I went to never once mentioned about passport application.

My wife recieved ILR in 2009 and it was a stamp/ sheet in her passport. For her Naturalisation application at the NCS all they asked was to point out where it was in her passport, no other reference was made for a document confirming this. Does this mean my wife British Citizenship application will ...
