Given the list off accepted professions: http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitecontent/documents/policyandlaw/nationalityinstructions/nichapter6/annexa?view=Binary Which of the listed qualifiers do you think applies to the person as there is no generic "professional qualifications" type listing? Say...

Re: Right of entry as BC but non-BC/EU passport

Permanent residence is not 'cancelled' when a person is granted citizenship. there should be no problem with travelling on the non-EU passport with the permanent residence card/stamp following naturalisation. According to the chap on the UKBA Nationality helpline it is invalidated by the fact you a...

You can still register for PAYE now and the paperwork should come through in time for you. As an SME you do quarterly returns for PAYE so no disadvantage that I can think of for early registration. If you were wanting to do monthly PAYE returns for some reason you would simply do a nil return for th...

Many thanks, didnt realise that :( Spoke to UKBA Nationality team who say exactly the same as you but suggested speaking to the Immigration team at the port of return. The chief immigration officer there say's they've never heard of such a thing and of cause a BC would be allowed in even if they onl...

Right of entry as BC but non-BC/EU passport

Had an issue at the airport with the immigration officer saying that the PR stamp/ card in non-EU passport wasnt the right class of visa. After some arguing at the stand, moved off into what I can only call a holding pen full other latins. Waited 30 minutes and get called back to the stand passport ...

An arrest does show up on an enhanced CRB check but also noticeable would be the fact there was no prosecution.

An arrest is not a criminal conviction and would not have to be put on the AN form from the best of my knowledge.

Not sure why you are using a solicitor for a BC application but still

Worst case, it will add a couple of weeks delay as it gets returned for completion. Best case its ignored. Most probable I would guess is they contact the referee to confirm.

We applied as spouse of BC who happened to become free from immigration due to PR rather than ILR. What we did was therefore probably different to others as well as the non-BC was former family member of EEA national with retained rights. Section 1 we put in the date PR was awarded/recognised. Secti...

Evidently you could apply for BC whilst you have a criminal case for domestic violence outstanding but I suspect you have a much better chance of success if you wait until the case has been concluded and you have been found not guilty. Ultimately the choice is yours

(1) Left it blank on our form (2) I was told you had to put an exact date but ultimately if it is out a little bit then that isnt an issue (3) If you are an employee your HR/ Payroll department will be able to tell you which tax office it is (4) You must tick all the boxes if you want them to be abl...

You need to enter the date that you became free from immigration control. If you are an EEA citizen that would be when you have been in the UK exercising treaty rights for 5 years. When we did the application we werent doing it at the earliest opportunity and so just entered the date from the HO PR ...

For me you would need to explain the circumstances much more clearly. DV to me is Domestic Violence and so from what you say it is unclear if you were the victim of it or are accused. If you are suing someone or being sued? Is it a civil or criminal case? Likewise on the dowry issue, my understandin...

You only get a statement if you have taxes to pay so even if you had been one longer and was only getting minimal income you still wouldnt get a statement out...

Interestingly when I spoke to IPS they said that you must not leave the country during the application process, though if that is call centre staff making their own conclusions or "the law" as they said it was I dont know.

What are your points for? Was their a court case involved?

Long posting time?

Speaking to UKBA managed to get the chap to look at the case though under 6 months old for application made in mid Nov. They adv the decision has been made and the letter would be out in a "few weeks". Now I know Royal Mail is slow but a couple of weeks seems a fairly long time for what I assume is ...
