Some people receive both letters at the same time. The others have them sent separately. I also got 2 letters from UKBA - approval one and then (2 weeks later) invitation one. However, I rang my council about a week after receiving approval letter and although I hadn't ivitation letter on me, they (...

Hello, I received my ILR in September 2010. I have the PR issued on my British National (Oversea) passport. I'm going to apply for citizenship in coming September. Just want to confirm I will have to use the form AN for my application? And I have just seen on the UK Border Agency website http://www...

You should have been free from immigration restrictions for at least 12 months before applying.

Good Luck

Re: urgent: Sole director of own limited company

Questions: 1. Section 3.1, in 'What is your occupation', I have put her as IT Business Analyst within brackets I have mentioned that contracting through own limited company as a sole director. Is it correct? IT Specialist would suffice - no need to put anything in brackets 2. Section3.2, it asks wh...

It is a naturalisation certificate. It's like a birth certificate - you become a NEW Brit. :D
So only your name, date and place of birth is printed.
And, of course, date of ceremony.

Re: Residence condition for Naturalization

As we are in total five family members I, my wife and three Kids, it will cost me nearly £1760 for home office fee. I don’t wan't to make an unsuccessful application and waste money. I agree with above poster that you are very determined. In my opinion, your case is quite unique and I would cons...

When did you come over here? When did your wife come over here? For instance, if your wife will be here for 5 years say in June, then you may consider waiting a little and pay joint application fee (currently £1010) for both of you. Kid will cost you £500 regardless although you may wait with his ...

If you do pay now make sure HMRC don't collect it again (ie twice) through your code as well!! be sure they will collect it twice that's the way it works (unfortunately) they have already changed the code and I very much doubt they will reverse it when OP pays upfront and inform OP's employer about...

Thanks johnsienuk. I think based on our normal day to day experience it seems natural to expect more delays with cheques. Someone said that a card payment can be overturned, however the card company will ask for proof that it was fraudulent or unauthorized. If it was genuine then one cannot reverse...

Also cheque is not equivalent to money until it is cleared. Only demand draft is equivalent to money. One can send a cheque and inform the bank not to authorise it. So no way cheque is equivalent to money for the amount we are talking here. it's another urban myth... but let's leave it as I am not ...

Either you apply by post or NCS, it is always better to include a self-addressed next day special delivery envelope to receive all your documents including the passport(s) and the approval letter. If you have not enclosed then they will post it by ordinary post which may take sometime. You will rec...

I've just checked my credit file, and there is no UKBA search registered.
So UKBA do not check CRAs (stealth searches would be illegal).
However there is registered search by IPS (for passport application).

Confused? :)

ILR is as good as citizenship in terms of you can live as long as you want in the country, get the state benefits etc, although one cannot apply for a passport. If ILR is as good as BC then why do you want to apply for BC? IMHO, it is not as good as BC and I could list a lot of advantages of having...
