You have been waiting for so long! All the while I thought HO has been doing well in speeding up its approval process. Have you called them again? If all else fails, it's advisable to already involve your MP or have you done this as well? I have done all what you can think of letters, calls, MP.......

Blackhole I am glad to hear you are trying to get your life back. Sometimes HO really does things very slowly. I remember sometimes back when someone posted that he had waited for 12 months before getting a positive feed-back. I know they need to do all the checks but still 8 months is a long time....
