Legally separated is when you get separated through the court. If you haven't done that then you select 'married'.

You don't have to be employed for naturalisation. you can put unemployed.

No, you cannot apply in December 2012, you will have to wait 1 year after ILR.

Sorry, yes Jambo, forgot to mention that option.

Also, Kaybom, the requirement is to still be married, separated is acceptable, but hopefully divorce proceedings have not started as that might complicate your application.

Thanks

Hi, I had the same situation, my BC spouse and I have been separated since April 2012 and live at different addresses. I applied in October on 3 year BC spouse basis and received my approval letter after 6 weeks. There is no income requirement for naturalisation applications as you are entitled to c...

People should always be prepared and it is always better to take as many documents as you can as you never know what is going to be asked for. I didn't need it for my category of application and it was asked for. It just proves, at the very least, that you are a registered tax payer and your tax is ...

Hi Sib797 While I do agree with cricinfo, I would strongly recommend that you take your P60s with you. I recently applied and was approved (6 weeks to process) as spouse of BC 3 years residence and only needed passports, LIUK and marriage certificate, NCS did ask for my latest P60 and included in th...

You will need ILR before you can apply for BC and the 3 years residence requirement is you have to be free of immigration control, i.e. ILR. So you can qualify for ILR after 5 years, then apply ILR and immediately after you received it, apply for BC as you would have been legally resident for 3 year...

When are you applying for ILR?? If it is in the next couple of weeks, it is not worth applying for a replacement BRP as they do take a bit of time and you will have to pay for the replacement and redo your biometrics at the post office. I waited 3.5 months when I applied for a replacement BRP at the...

If a person has been naturalised as British, does this not invalidate the persons ILR?? So if you travel on your passport that holds ILR, how will the person re-enter the UK if the ILR has been superceded by naturlisation??
Thanks

Hi, You can apply without your BRP as long as you have reported it to UKBA. For replacement BRPs - they are processed at a different office to ILR applications. On the forms I am sure there is a place to write that you have lost your residence permit, besides which, UKBA will have your information f...

Yes we are aware of the process and requirements to resume citizenship and we were both born there but we have chosen to make this our home and at some point his daughter will come over to live here too and he won't need to go there. Yes, we are aware of the automatic loss of citizenship and don't really care to be honest as we aren't going back. However, his daughter is still in South Africa and he has had no problems entering and exiting SA on his current SA passport when he visits her.

Smithy, For info, you have to pay a similar fee per person to the SA Embassy for them to issue you with a letter giving you 'permission' hence my comment about the cost. My friend who did this route complained about the time it took for both letters (UKBA and SA Embassy) being approximately 5 months...

I have just had a look at the copy of my AN form I submitted and I didn't put a UKBA reference number and I recall NCS saying it was not necessary as I was providing my BRP stating I have ILR.

Thanks

Hi,

I would strongly recommend you also take your latest P60. I did not require mine as I applied as spouse of BC, but NCS asked for it and took a copy to send with my application.

Thanks

Thanks
