Re: English Language rquirements

They are stating following two paragraphs which are clearly stating that ESOL is not for Tier1 or HSMP visa holders. There are 2 ways to demonstrate your knowledge of language and life (KOL) in the UK. If you are an English speaker (see below) and/or you are currently in the UK as a skilled or high...

Thanks no seal, quite an informative post. UK is tiny compared to Canada, everything is small, however, must appreciate the management skills, be it roads, hospitals, garbage collection so on..... Just think with such small space and population double of Canada, are we not doing well. In Canada, you...

I have read all the posts and can clearly see opinion is in favor of Canada than UK. I am in a bit of dilemma so would really like someone to give a honest opinion. I am in UK for ...

So, I have some news. I called the Croydon centre and was told the following: both the LIUK test and an additional certificate to demonstrate your proficiency in English is mandatory for ILR. If you do not have either of these, then your ILR will be refused. It does not matter if you previously pas...

I have had a re-look at the UKBA website and the document itself. There is a statement which says as an example (not in exact words) that tier 2 applicants who has proven as part of initial application need not have to prove again. My prudence dictates that the same would imply for Tier 1 as well. ...

ILR for wife

Hello all, I was just wondering if someone could help me in this or if they have any personal experience related to this issue. I was on HSMP/Tier-1 (PBS) from 2007 and my ILR was due last year in July 2012. My wife joined me in April 2011 as dependent of Tier-1 (Tier-1 Partner visa). Her visa was a...

How about people like me who had scored 7.5/ 9 in IELTS and language is like a motor-able skill. The more you practice, the more proficient you become.... I scored 8.0 in IELTS back in 2008 but obviously cannot submit it as it has expired. I have booked FCE exam in August as I don't want to waste t...

I am seriously appalled to learn about this new English requirement for Naturalization. I mean how daft they can get asking us to pass a stupid B1 test to prove our language ability. Finally after a wait of 6 months and 2 weeks, I got my ILR. I was thinking about involving my MP but I didn't. To be honest I don't think involving MP will do you any good as UKBA will take their time. One piece of advice - don't panic and have patience. It will eventually come whether you panic or ...
