It is shocking to me to find out that persons on work visas are only entitled to NHS Hospital treatment while they are actually in employment. An HSMP holder who has been working and paying taxes for years could find himself between jobs at some point and God forbids, he needs hospital treatment dur...

The moral of the story is that you should try and look for jobs in the area of expertise in which you have proven experience. Based on my observations, UK companies seem to value experience even more than educational qualifications. Whenever I am looking for jobs I generally do a google search with ...

This compulsory voluntary service is an oxymoron in my mind. Somewhere between working long hours as highly skilled, high tax paying migrants, you will have to use any leisure time you would normally hope to spend with your family or unwinding doing voluntary work. I have no problem with rewarding t...

£250 for a broker is money well spent as they often can arrange deals with banks which would turn you away if you showed up in their offices on your own. Reputable brokers won't charge you until you have actually completed your house purchase.

It is quite normal for it to take months to get a job in the UK. This is often the case even for people with UK experience, be patient, be confident, make sure your English is fluent and your speaking voice clear (going out and interacting with people helps, even if English is your first language, a...

Lots of Cisco roles are there but most companies want other skills in addition to CISCO, some security, windows experience for example will make you more marketable. I've found that experience matters a lot more than qualifications in the UK.

I assume you will also get a written contract which will stipulate the terms of your employment, if this doesn't explicitly state that it is a job share and the number of days per week, then you should be able to ask the HR people to state it explicitly. Once you get this contract, keep your copy sa...

If I had officially "entered," would I have gotten a special stamp? There is no special stamp for HSMPers, they just stamp the date of entry, they do seem to normally stamp this on the entry clearance sticker on your first entry, but I do not know if it is mandatory. May I ask why the issue of when...

If you have used the HSMP visa to enter the UK, no matter if this was only for short periods of time, you have officially entered. You are right, if you are planning to move to the UK, you should do so well before the final 12 months of your visa. Remember it may take a while to actually get a job o...

I think the reasons for the refusal are ridiculous when the HO proposed guidelines on required funds under the new PBS is less than the £6000 you are able to show. The p60 is relevant since it does cover three months of the period for which you are claiming. Very few people will have p60's which match exactly the period for which they are claiming.
