Oh, I definitely agree with you that some people are unnecessarily impatient. I've told people on the forum to be patient several times myself. For example, when someone asked if they should contact their MP about their application after only 2 months! But I'm just saying that the impatience is some...

I agree there are a lot of impatient people. Myself included. But you can't blame people for being impatient when UKBA makes people wait for weeks to months without any contact so people have no idea what's going on with their application. Or when people want to go on holiday and wish to get their p...

I don't think a speeding conviction is considered a 'minor' offence but I could be wrong. I'll let the gurus give their opinion. This is from the CW guidance notes: 3.3When minor convictions may be disregarded 3.3.1 Where the applicant is of good character in all other respects caseworkers should n...

Well, I had to get my countersignature to sign it when she was free. She's a busy person and the day she signed it was a day she wasn't busy. Why not get it done then when she had the time? Who knows when I would have been able to catch her again, and I am in a hurry to get my passport as I want to ...

before you debate on this further i suggest read the passport application form carefully. Section 10 - Counter Signature - If a counter signature is needed, they must fill in this section after the rest of the form has been filled in. Yeah, I know that part, which is why I said the countersignature...

Re: Passport countersignature predates citizenship certifica

because the countersignature is supposed to read through your application to verify that the details are correct before they countersign for you. Exactly. And how he could do that if you only got the naturalisation certificate 10 days later?. If IPS spot that, they will write back to you asking to ...

You're welcome.

I was asked to send some more documents to them and after I sent the documents I emailed them asking if they'd received them. They responded saying yes, they had received the documents. So they will probably respond if you ask them if they received your application.

It's really not that big a deal. If they've debited the money then they're working on your application. If you want some peace of mind then maybe email them and ask about your application. I used this email address: NationalityProgress@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk and they responded to me, so try this one....

Re: Passport countersignature predates citizenship certifica

Can the date of a passport countersignature predate the date of issue of the citizenship certificate? Or the date should be left blank and completed after the citizenship ceremony? My countersignature and passport application are dated 8th June and my naturalisation certificate is dated 18th June. ...

No, not normal at all. Write to UKBA and ask for another "poll cover number" (whatever that is). If you do not receive a reply within two weeks, hire a solicitor and file for a Judicial Review. Say that you are not happy with the approvals if there is only one "poll cover number" (whatever that is)...

I've had my ceremony and I'm officially a British citizen. :D It was very quick, probably even less than five minutes because it was only me and the registrar. Started at 10 and I was out of there and in my car by 10.07. £120 for just five minutes! Haha. I don't mind though because I'm in a ...

It's strange, it seems as if the early April applications are being delayed. I was lucky; I applied 12th April so it wasn't too early. But even still, my application took slightly longer to approve than many who applied in later April and May.Those who applied early April applied just before the fee...

But it wasn't of much use really. They said they haven't got my certificate yet but it should be with them soon and I should receive my letter from them telling me to book a ceremony date by Wednesday. The lady said if I don't receive it by Friday I should call them back.

I just spoke to someone in Islington's Register office. I asked him the price of a private ceremony and was told it's £120. Not as bad as I was expecting. I was expecting at least £150. I also asked the guy if it would be possible for me to book a date for my ceremony as I still haven't received the...

The timeline threads are helpful in regards to giving people a rough idea of how long to expect their naturalisation application to take. However, the negative side to them is that they can make people worried and anxious. For example, when you see others who applied the same time as you or after yo...
