SET(LR)_10 year_ Clarification on proving knowledge of English

Hi Folks,

I am currently putting together an application for ILR based on 10 years of continuous stay. In my checklist, it does not ask for a proof of knowledge of English or a copy of B1 test.

Having said that, I have taken IELTS B1 back in 2017 from Name: British Council London Central.

Therefore, my questions are:

1. Do I need to prove my knowledge of English in my ILR application?

2. If yes, can I use my expired B1 from 2017? I am not sure how and where to check
a) it’s on the current list of recognized tests - WHERE CAN I CHECK THIS
b) it was accepted for another UK immigration application, for example when you got permission to enter - I DO NOT SATISFY (b) as I have been on Tier 2 ICT since my arrival.

3. Should I take another B1 test?

If you have not use the test for another application that was successful and the test has expired, then you need to do a new test.

English test and LIUK test is mandatory for ilr.

The checklist does not ask for English proof probably because you answered yes to "Have you provided evidence of your English language ability in a previous application?"

I assume you have provided English proof in your ICT application 10 years ago? What was the evidence?

No! It did not ask for the form while filling the application but only secure link for Life in the UK test

No! It did not ask me that question in my form. I am not sure if it is because of the ten-year route. For my ICT, I did not provide any proof except my degree certificates etc. I am guessing I can ask for the proof from my employer before taking a test!

Where did you get your degree and was it taught in English?

My degree is from India and was taught in English. However, i went back and found my original COS where the English language requirement were met by ICT. Does/Will this count as a proof?

I had taken a valid B1 test but i have not used it for any immigration purpose.

Appreciate if someone can advise as my Appointment is next week so I am unlikely to find a test spot.

The form says ICT applicants do not need to prove English level unless applying for extensions in the UK. So you didn't provide proof in your first ICT application. What other visa applications you have had in the past 10 years?

If you want to use your foreign degree, then you require more.
