Shortening my First Name

Hello Everyone,

I'm about to submit my British Citizenship application, and in my home country, my name, my father's name, my grandfather's name, and my family name are displayed on my passport.

My question is: can I ask to shorten my name on my citizenship certificate and, subsequently, on my British passport to my name and Family name (Lastname) only? And if yes, where can I put this in the application, or should I make a cover letter?

You would need to change your foreign passport first to the new shortened name.
