Skilled worker visa application query

Post by Rehan00781 » Thu Jan 30, 2025 8:10 pm

Hello,

I am currently on a Post-Study Work visa and have been employed by a UK-based company for the past two years. My employer is now sponsoring me for a Skilled Worker visa and has issued my Certificate of Sponsorship (COS). However, I am concerned about the impact of a seven-month absence from the UK within the past year on my visa application. I would appreciate any information regarding potential issues this absence might cause and how best to address them in my application.

Kind regards,

Why would it be an issue?

You are overthinking.

Thank you for your valuable feedback.

I am applying for a Skilled Worker visa, but I am facing a name conflict during the identity check. My passport does not have a surname, only a given name. When I scan my BRP, the Immigration ID check app reads my name correctly, but it appears twice when compared with my UKVI account details, causing a mismatch. I believe this may be due to how I entered my name while creating the immigration account.
Would it be advisable to create a new UKVI account and proceed with the application, or is there a way to correct this issue in my existing account? I would greatly appreciate your guidance on how to proceed.
