Spouse and Kid dependent Visa for ILR holding person

Post by sanjeev0915 » Fri Apr 24, 2015 8:49 am

Hi

I have just switched to ILR from Tier 2 ICT Migrant. My wife and kid (> 18 yrs age) used to have dependent visa earlier based on my tier 2 ICT. Both of them had the visa till May 2014. Last year we have not opted for their extension so they do not hold any visa since then. We all got our visa stamped first time in April 2010 under Tier 2 ICT category which was sponsored by my employer.

this year I want to bring my wife and kind to UK. Under which category their Visa should be applied.

Any help would be appreciated.

Best Regards

They will need to apply per the link below :

https://www.gov.uk/join-family-in-uk/overview

You will need to meet the financial requirement £22,400 and your spouse will need to do English Level A1 test.

You will also have to pay the new NHS Surcharge of £200 per year per person, payable upfront at the point of application (£200 x 3 = £600 each, so £1,200 total for spouse and 1 child). The surcharge is payable on top of the visa fees.

Initial visa will be for 33 months and then they will require an extension for a further 2.5 years (NHS surcharge payable again at this point), to make up 5 years residence before they can apply for ILR.

Unfortunately, the time that they have spent in the UK previously will be lost and cannot be counted towards the new 5 year residence requirement.

Thanks.

while reading through the information on the site - not able to understand - if this can be applied only online or can we fill in the forms manually instead of doing it online?

If the website tells you to apply online, then that is what you must do. There is no option of doing it manually instead of online.
