Spouse FLR

Post by muralijayam » Thu Sep 26, 2024 9:23 pm

Hello Friends,
Appreciate if someone can clarify my query.
I am going to get my ILR next year February 2025 on 10 years long route. After marriage my wife is with me in UK continuously with dependent Visa. only thing is she came after 1 year of mine. which means next year February 2024 she will complete 9 years. she need another year of visa. Please suggest whether i need to apply again Dependent visa or i can apply FLR. she required only one year for her ILR.
1. Can i apply FLR for my wife?
2. If i apply FLR after i get a citizenship in 2026. Can she directly eligible for Citizenship. consider her 1 year FLR also completes.

She can continue to extend her existing visa. You don't state what visa category she holds or you hold?

She can also switch to FLR(M) if you and her meet the requirements.

There is no '1 year visa' option. FLR(M) is a 2.5 year visa.

If you are on Skilled Worker, GTV or Tier 1 Entrepreneur visa, her dependent extension will be for 3 years.

To qualify for citizenship, she needs ILR first. If you are British when she gets ILR, then she can apply for citizenship as soon as her ILR is approved.

Correct.

Thanks for your response.
Another query:
My 10 years route (1 year short term ict visa and within a month renewed for long term ict visa and i was in long term ict for 5 years and then renewed PBS(skilled worker visa) now going to complete 10 years
1 year short Term ICT +5 year's long term ICT + 4 years PBS visa = Total 10 Year Visa

My wife joined me from 5 year long term ICT visa now and continuously stayed with me as dependent visa.

in uk website it's mentioned irrespective of ict visa or pbs vis if the dependent continuously with partners for 5 years in uk as dependent visa.she will be eligible for ilr as soon as partner received the ilr. this is correct?
