Spouse ILR to British Citizenship

Post by davidgezar » Sun Aug 08, 2021 4:06 pm

Hi all,

Last week my wife got her ILR (Indefinite Leave to Remain) spouse visa and received her Biometric card.
Is it correct that she is able to apply for her British citizenship straight away or does not need to wait 12 months and then apply?

Yes she can apply now, provided she meets all the requirements to apply based in 3 years residence.

Thanks, she had 5 years of Spouse residence visa, before she got her ILR, is that fine?

The route to ILR is irrelevant. The requirement to skip waiting the 12 months is only that the person applying is married to a British citizenship, regardless of which ILR route they have been on.
