Spouse Visa extension and DV

Post by Orion123 » Sat Feb 13, 2016 6:25 pm

Hi guys,

I got married a few years ago and everything was fine until a few months ago when my partner started acting odd and then just left. I found out she left because she 'fancied' someone else and he told her to leave claiming she was a victim of domestic violence.

Anyway she had been in contact with me the whole time and came back after a month. Her spouse visa was suppose to finish in April anyway but given that she went to a women's shelter, her visa was cancelled and she was given a three month temporary visa. This expires in three weeks.

I have forgiven her but it will take time to build trust again. The home office has said that she will need to apply to regularise her stay but I wanted to know do I have to apply for the 2.5 year extension or are there other routes open? Such as a 12 month visa, or applying in another category or even the ten year route.

I know its an odd query and you might be thinking that I should just leave and deport her but I want to give it another try.

FLR(M) for 2.5 years if you/she meet ALL the requirements.

FLR(FP) if you/she don't.

There is no such thing as '12 month visa'.
