Spouse Visa Extension Finances

Post by zaman246 » Mon Mar 11, 2024 11:04 pm

Hi,

Me and my wife are currently doing a Spouse Visa Extension application and we are confused about the finance section on the application. Everything else we have completed on the application.

We both have been working with the same salary of £9996 (£833 per month) so we would like to combine this income to meet the £18,600 threshold. However we have only been working at this company for the past 7 months so my question is this: Can we submit 6 months payslips for both of us? Or would we need to submit 12 months payslips? It is a continuous salary so we were expecting it to be 6 months payslips.

The reason I am confused is that both of our salaries are £9996 so when filling in the application form I have to input our salaries separately and independently we do not meet the threshold but if I select the option that we are below the threshold on the form it asks for 12 months payslips. For now I have selected above the threshold for both of us despite us not meeting it individually and by selecting this option it shows we only need 6 months payslips. Would we be okay to proceed with the application like this?

Here is an annotated screenshot of the question to try and make it clearer.

If someone can please help we would greatly appreciate it!
Thank you for your time.

As it is a combined income so you answer it as such I.e. same amount continuously and above requirements, and input the combined annual income.
6months pay slips and accounts statements.

Thank you for your reply.

So just to confirm in the “What is their annual income before tax for this employment in GBP (E)?” box should I input the combined income total of £19,992 for both me and my wife even though individually it is just £9996?

That is why using combined income means literally.

Thanks again for your response. On the form, the entries for both of our jobs is separate so we are inputting our individual job details in separate question fields which is why I am more confused. Please see the following image:

I have highlighted the two separate entries, one for me and one for my wife. Can you advise exactly which options we should use and if the current options selected and inputs are correct? If not, what changes would you suggest?

Your screenshot is a bit hazy, but from memory you would have to fill details in different column for combined income. For applicant, name, NI, salary, place of work, designation or so. Then you do the exact same for your spouse.

The CW would understand what you've done. Just make sure that you have all supporting documents for all payments for the pair of you for 6 months.

You can add a cover letter if it helps. But I think you should be fine.
No sin in failing, you just have to try and try again!

Yes, on the form we have to fill in our job details separately however there is no column or specific option to input the combined income. We can only input our separate incomes when prompted.

However, I think your suggestion of adding a cover letter would be my best option. I will go ahead and do that so I can explain we are combining salaried income to meet the threshold.

Thanks again for your help.

Spouse Visa Extension Priority Service?

Post by zaman246 » Wed Mar 13, 2024 4:33 pm

Hi,

I am about to submit my application for Spouse Visa Extension and I wanted to submit with the Priority Service (within 5 working days).

However I can only see options for standard service and Super Priority.
Does anyone know if the Priority service is ever available for Spouse Visa Extension applications? Or will I need to fork out an extra £500 to submit with super priority?

Thank you.

5 day priority is not available for spouse visas.

Only standard and super priority applies to spouse visas. This is clearly stated on the ukvi website which visa categories can use which service.
