Spouse visa for wife settled in UAE - required documents

Post by wordsmith12 » Mon Dec 03, 2018 10:41 pm

Hi,

I am a British citizen, my wife is Indian and is settled in UAE. I wish to apply for spouse visa to bring her to UK.

I have a questions regarding required original applicant documents from Dubai.
- Visa proving she can stay in Dubai - this is stamped in the passport, and we will photo copy it and include it in the documents. Is this enough?
- Tenancy agreement - tenancy agreement proving where she stays, does this need to be original? I am thinking if this needs to be original to submit it in Dubai as it would be easier, as am I am not sure about them not having their original tenancy agreement for so long if I am to submit the application in UK
- Police clearance - we are getting police clearance for her from Dubai, but do we need one from India as well? She did her undergraduate study in India for 3 years.

English proficiency document - How much marks in IELTS does she require? She has a IELTS score of 6.0, with 6.0 in everything. Is this enough?

Thanks so much in advance for all the help. If anyone has any experience in submitting the application in Dubai please do share it!

1. Original passport with visa will be deposited at visa centre. They may have facility to take scan themselves and give original back.

2. Tenancy agreement proving suitable accomodation must be original one. And if non-related adults are sharing that accomodation then property inspection report need.

3. Police clearance certificate not needed

4. Unless having uk degree she will either need NARIC red route comparability & English proficiency report or have to pass IELTS life skills test A1/A2/B1 from approved centres.
The opinion expressed as above is neither a professional advice nor contesting/competing to other member's opinion/advice.

It is not very clear in ops's original post but whatever he has been advised is also relevant to his application. Also in my view if the op's is referring to UAE's tenancy agreement then also no harm in attaching that since he is a foreigner there and it might count as proof of address/residence there.

Hi both, thanks a lot for the info. To clarify, I am a UK citizen living in UK. My wife is an Indian citizen currently living in UAE.

I was enquiring whether a tenancy agreement is required from UAE where my wife is staying (she living with her parents.) I will of course provide necessary tenancy/accommodation papers from UK.

Thanks for clarifying the English proficiency test requirements. I will ask my wife to do a IELTS Life skills A1 test.

I am steering towards sending all my documents to UAE and having my wife submit the application there. I saw there is a service provided by VFS in which they will check the application papers before submitting for some extra money.
