UK spouse visa given only for 3 months?

Hi all,

My wife landed yesterday in the UK on a dependent visa( Settlement visa ). My query is she only received a 3 months visa, does she need to apply for extension after 3 months ? Is this how it works? i was in a assumption that she will get atleast 2 and half years and then she can apply for extension, please correct me if i am wrong.

Any guidance on this matter is hugely appreciated.

The initial visa in the passport is for 90 days o facilitate entry to the UK.

She has to collect her BRP card (which is her visa) from the post office you nominated in the form. The approval letter likely told her what to do.

Visa vignette in passport to facilitate entry into UK is 90days validity.
BRP to be collected after entering UK contains full extent of spouse visa which is 33months for the initial.
