Post by Kay17 » Fri Jul 05, 2019 4:53 pm

Hi
I was wondering if someone can help me , I have been married for nearly 2 years and have a 1 year old , I am carer for my grandma and wish to apply for my husband's visa who is currently in Pakistan. I want to know how much do I need to earn and how many payslips I need to show.
Any help would be great

have a 1 year old _________?
Maybe it means 1 year old child. If he/she is British then will be exempted from financial requirement. To sponsor your partner you should be at least earning £18600 per year/£1550 per month.

Are you claiming Carer's Allowance? If so, you may qualify under Adequate Maintenance instead of having to meet the minimum earnings level.

Please don't send me PMs asking for immigration advice on posts that are on the open forum. If I haven't responded there, it's because I don't have the answer. I'm a moderator, not a legal professional.

Meeting the financial requirement through “adequate
maintenance”
3.6.1. Where the applicant’s partner is in receipt of any of the following benefits or allowances in
the UK, the applicant will be able to meet the financial requirement at that application
stage by providing evidence of “adequate maintenance” rather than meeting an income
threshold:
• Carer’s Allowance.
• Disability Living Allowance.
• Severe Disablement Allowance.
• Industrial Injuries Disablement Benefit.
• Attendance Allowance.
• Personal Independence Payment.
• Armed Forces Independence Payment or Guaranteed Income Payment under the
Armed Forces Compensation Scheme.
• Constant Attendance Allowance, Mobility Supplement or War Disablement Pension
under the War Pensions Scheme.
• Police Injury Pension.

You are receiving carer allowance in your gradma name which wont be counted and if you are not claiming above listed benefits then you wont be exempted from financial requirement. To meet financial requirement as stated above that you should be earning at least £18600 per year. You will need 6 months of payslips and bank statements if you are working for your employer from at least 6 months otherwise 12 months of payslips and bank statements.
The opinion expressed as above is neither a professional advice nor contesting/competing to other member's opinion/advice.
