Acceptable professionals for citizenship referees

Post by cvs » Sat Dec 25, 2021 4:01 pm

Hi,
I confused about Acceptable professionals for British citizenship 2 referees.
I have now 2 referees. One is Friend and another one is my landlord Husband. Both are British citizenship holders (Origin: India) and working as software engineers.

Are they consider as Acceptable professionals ?

Thanks in Advance.

It is not sufficient that their job description is "engineer". They need to be the member of a professional guild or regulatory organisation, such as their equivalent of the Institution of Civil Engineers or civil engineers, etc.

If they are members of such an organisation, then yes, they can be the professional referee for your application.

Either of them can be the British citizen referee of your application, provided that they are not related to you by either blood or marriage.

Referee_Declaration Online verification or Printed document sign

Post by cvs » Tue Dec 28, 2021 1:01 pm

Hi,
I submitted Adult British Citizenship application online. At the end mandatory area I got 2 form to sign as supporting documents, family_consent form and booking appointment for Biometric details.

Its ok abou family_consent and Biometric Appointment.

But confused about other 2 forms asked, which are
1st_Referee_Declaration_MN1
2nd_Referee_Declaration_MN1

Do I need to submit these MN1 forms for Adult application?

One of my friend said that when she applied, the Referee got email for filling the confirmation.

Does the Referees get email to verify?

Please suggest whether to attach printed and signed form (Referees and Identity) or online verification email will be received?

My Referee confirmed they haven't received any email though i submitted online application on 25th Dec 2021.

Thank You in Advance.

For adult naturalisation you need the two referees - it's the same form for MN1.
Get your referees to fill in the forms and upload the forms with your other documents - not sure about email contact with the referees - normally they are not contacted.
NB. you applied only 3 days ago so I wouldn't expect any feedback just now.
NB2. Referee for Passport will be contacted by email.
This is just my opinion as a member of this forum and does not constitute immigration advice.

Thank You alterhase58 for quick reply.
I will print and get signed to upload then.
My friend Referee got email verification may be due to covid as she submitted it during lockdown time.
