Supporting Documents

I'm applying for indefinite leave to remain by long residence. When I read the form, I thought that the only supporting documents that you need to show residence are your passports for that time period. i.e. doctor's letters, utility bills etc. were not required if you only have your passports. I paid for a consultation with a lawyer to review my application before it was sent off and I was told that passports alone are not sufficient and that you must have these documents, preferably one covering each year of your stay. Is this information accurate?

Your solicitor is wrong.

Set(LR) form and all the passports covering the 10 years residence, LIUK and English level B1 requirement.

The other documentation is only required if you DO NOT have the passport with which you entered or all the passports covering the full 10 years.

Section 4 Page 19 of the form is very clear on what to send with your applicatoin.

I concur, additional residential proof is only required where your passport(s) do not cover the entire 10 year period, or where there may be questions over your re-entry.
