T2G dependent extension : now or wait

I and my 2 kids are T2G PBS dependent on my wife who is currently T2G primary visa holder. All our visas expire in June 2021 where my wife will have completed her 5 year tenure and be eligible to apply for ILR. Kids and I switched as her dependents in Sep 2016, (I was on ict and kids were dependent on me before that) so we are not eligible for ilr till sep-2021. This means kids and I will need an extension once my wife has applied for ilr and that will be minimum of 3 years.
Given ihs is increasing, is it possible for kids and I to submit an extension now even though my wife is not eligible for ILR? Just trying to understand if there is any way to save!

No, because you won't get a visa extension granted for a period that exceeds the visa validity of the main tier 2 visa holder. A PBS dependents visa is always in line with the main visa holders expiry date.
