Tier 2 and second job outside of the UK

The rules about the second job for people under Tier 2 can be found here: https://www.gov.uk/tier-2-general/second-job

You can take a second job on this visa if you’re working up to 20 hours a week in either:

• the same profession as your main job and at the same level

• a profession on the shortage occupation list

You can also do unpaid voluntary work.

This may be a ridiculous question, but these rules do not apply for jobs outside of the UK, right?

If you're a Tier 2 holder in the UK and you've got a job in another country, that is allowed. Is this true?

I just want to make sure this, but don't know who to ask. Thank you.

It applies to second jobs in the UK.

However, where will you be paid for your out of UK second job and how much time and when will you be working for 'them'??

Thanks. Sorry for the late response. Somehow I didn't see the notification coming.

It will be my home country, Japan. Since it's the second job, it will be only my outside-of-work time, i.e. evening or weekends.

So, if I keep the amount of work described in my CoS, it's OK to have a second job outside of the UK, right?

I just had a reply from our institute's immigration team that says the Home Office rules about second jobs only applies to the jobs in the UK. So legally, I can undertake second jobs outside of the UK as long as I keep my employer happy. They also said that I should talk to an HR person as well.
