Tier 2 Dependents Application Full Trail

Post by hakbar7007 » Wed Apr 10, 2019 12:24 pm

Hello All,
I am on Tier 2 in UK. Have recently moved here. I wanted to apply for my dependents and have following questions on mind;

1. Where is the web link to apply? I am in UK and family is in Kuwait.
2. They can travel after schools finish in mid June, can I apply now?
3. I am living in a room in London, do I need to book hotel or rent a house before I apply?
4. Shall I attach tickets with the form?
5. For maintenance funds, do I have to have GBP630 per head for 90 days or 30 days?
6. Apart from filled application forms, passport copies, Marriage Certificate for wife and birth certificates for kids, what other documents are required?

Will really appreciate your response and guidance.

1. https://www.gov.uk/tier-2-general/family-members
https://visas-immigration.service.gov.u ... /dependant

2. You can apply no sooner than within 3 months of your intended date of travel. Note that their initial visa will only be valid for 30 days.

3. Depends on how many dependents do you have and if children, how old they are??

4. No. UKVI does state VERY clearly NOT to book flights until your have received your visa.

5. £630 per person for 90 days. How long have you been in the UK on Tier 2??

6. You need evidence to prove subsisting relationship, i.e. visits to them, whatsapp message screenshots etc etc.

Thanks a lot. Very helpful.

2. You can apply no sooner than within 3 months of your intended date of travel. Note that their initial visa will only be valid for 30 days.

OK Noted. Will do my math for this one.

3. Depends on how many dependents do you have and if children, how old they are??

A wife, a Son aged 13 and a daughter aged 11.

4. No. UKVI does state VERY clearly NOT to book flights until your have received your visa. OK

5. £630 per person for 90 days. How long have you been in the UK on Tier 2??

I came to UK in the end of February 2019 and my resident permit which I collected in the beginning of March says it was issued in Mid February 2019.

6. You need evidence to prove subsisting relationship, i.e. visits to them, whatsapp message screenshots etc etc.

Before coming here in February 2019, I was in Kuwait and they are already on a dependent visa in Kuwait as my dependents. Apart from it we do call every day but I feel marriage certificate and birth certificates should be a good proof. Do you feel that is enough.

On a separate note, a friend of mine came form Pakistan recently on ICT visa with his family (wife and kids). He attached the same documents mentioned above plus a letter declaring he will take full responsibility for his minor dependents. I have not seen any requirement of such letter on any rule book however may be its a good idea. No?

If you live in one room in a house share, this will NOT be sufficient for 2 adults and two teenage children. You should find a suitable sized property.

The home office links explains the maintenance funds you need. https://www.gov.uk/tier-2-general/eligibility

You need to show this evidence PLUS evidence of communication since you have been apart.

There is no such requirement. ICT rules are slightly different to Tier 2 General rules.

Dear Admin,
Thank you very much for your responses.

Regarding point 3, accommodation, can I book a Hotel for them, is that accepted?
Or Can I have another furnished room rented in the same property or another property nearby of the same real estate agent. I don't want to rent a house without my partner visit and her choice.

Regarding point 6, communication, are whatsapp and Facebook Messenger screen shots having list of calls made enough? We don't chat, mostly calls.

I am here since mid February 2019 which means my 5 years will end Mid February of 2024. If they land in UK in say end of June 2019, can they apply for ILR with me or they will have to do an extension in 2024 for few months?

Best Regards,

You need to see what the form asks for regarding accommodation and plan accordingly.

Should be ok.

No. Their residence for ILR will start counting from the date their visas are issued.

I started filling the application on the web link you provided.

I have reached the page where it asks about accommodation, it says:

Accommodation plans in the UK
Where do you plan to stay in the UK?
Give as much detail as possible of where you intend to stay, for example in a hotel, private housing, or with friends. (max 500 characters).

This is what I am planning to type in there:

My husband is currently living in ******************** in a furnished place. Before we reach, we will book a hotel for few days and then move to a larger furnished apartment. We will rent a house after me and my husband jointly search and select a house in locality we agree on. My husband won't rent a house now because I have to be part of this decision.

I feel it will accept hotel. Any thoughts !!!

Question;
If sponsor agrees to provide maintenance funds support, what do they ask from him? Do they ask for bank statements of the Sponsor?

Regards

No.

If the sponsor is A rated, then they would have ticked YES to the maintenance for main visa holder and dependents in the CoS.

Then you need maintenance funds held for 90 days.

The application says:

How long do you intend to stay in the UK?
For example, 2 years 4 months

What should be the best answer. I am applying for my family for 5 years. Is that OK or shall I write Indefinitely?

Hi All,
I hired a lawyer for my case to apply my dependents visa. Most of the documents are arrange (I will provide a list later as a reference for others). There is an issue about accommodation. Initially the lawyer told me that he strongly believes that hotel/Airbnb booking is not enough just rent a house and provide even an inspection report for suitability of the house and no overcrowding etc. I started searching a house but it is taking time. Now, seems the lawyer want to close the case sooner, he says its OK provide us a hotel or Airbnb booking.

Now, I am worried. The application form does say Accommodation plans in the UK - Where do you plan to stay in the UK? - Give as much detail as possible of where you intend to stay, for example in a hotel, private housing, or with friends. (max 500 characters).. But I am now double minded what to do. House and inspection report has more work, costly but seems a safe option. :(

Any suggestions please???
