Tier 2 General outside UK Secondment

Hi,

Could anyone please advise me what's the rule of being outside the UK for more then 180 days in a single year on secondment with the same employer/sponsor? can I go outside UK for a year with the same employer without breaking the 180 days rule?

Absences of 180 days or more breaks continuity of residence and you will not qualify for ILR. 180 days is all absences, personal and business.

It will also depend on how you managed to split the absences and also what your long term goal is (British citizenship?) on whether you want to risk it.
