Tier 2 General Visa - Cooling Off period Applicable?

Is cooling off period applicable to Tier 2 General Visa holders too, i have been informed that its only applicable for tier2 ICT holders.

Its not very clear stated on the home office website.

Also are there any exemptions to this "Cooling Off" clause.

Yes, it is applicable for T2 General visa holders as well.

All the exemptions are mentioned in T2 Sponsor Guidance. Have a look.

Thanks for prompt response. I have tried looking into "Tier_2_Guidance_04_2015" and "tier_2_5_sponsor_guidance_04_15_word_v1_2" but I did not found any straight forward exemptions.

Only thing mentioned is

If you are already in the UK and were initially granted leave in one of the categories listed below:
 Tier 2 (Intra-Company Transfer: Established Staff), under the Rules in place before 6 April 2011,
 Tier 2 (Intra-Company Transfer), under the Rules in place before 6 April 2010,Intra-Company Transfer work permit holder (except multiple entry work permits),
 Representative of an Overseas Business (this includes representatives of overseas media companies)
and
you have not since been granted leave to remain, entry clearance or leave to enter in any other route;
you can apply to extend your stay in the Long Term Staff sub-category and can extend your stay beyond 5 years.
