Tier 2 premium service availability?

Post by returntoforever » Sat Apr 13, 2019 4:48 pm

So the lawyer said they could only lodge my CoS and application on the 23rd earliest. I’m eager to put in my notice before or on 1 May but I need to wait for at least the approval of my new visa.

Is it difficult to get a slot with premium service (same day decision) for Tier 2 (change of employer)? How likely is it to get an appointment within 7 working days? I’m willing to go anywhere within the UK

Thank you very much :)

Also, since I’m switching employers and applying in country, does that mean I’ll be granted a UCoS? How long does it take to obtain one?

CoS and visa are two separate processes, not one. You need your sponsor to assign a CoS. Once you have that, then you can apply for the visa online.

There is no longer a premium same day decision service. It closed in November last year. You now have to apply online and book an appointment through the new UKCVAS Sopra Steria service. Super priority (24 hours) is the quickest at £800 extra and does not guarantee a quick decision.

Many centres around the UK with UKCVAS.

Yes, an Unrestricted CoS. How long it takes depends on whether the sponsor has any CoS in their annual allocation to assign, which doesn't take long if they have. Presumably they have completed the full and proper RLMT before offering you the job??

Thank you so much your swift reply CR001!

So the wait is more down to UCoS issue time and their decision time? The lawyer my new employer uses has informed me that I’d get my BRP by end of May without even using priority service so I thought I could at least expect to receive a decision first week of May with super priority service ...

If I put in my notice after 1 May, I maybe have to negotiate a shorter notice period.

And yes my employer has done RLMT. It’s a multinational bank in London who hires mostly foreigners and EU nationals in their head quarter so I’m hoping it makes a difference in terms of UCoS issue time (I would assume they have enough spare allocation due to their demand for foreign labour) :(
