Time allowed outside UK on 5 year route?

Hi all,

My Japanese partner will be applying for her ILR at the end of 2019. We're planning to have a holiday to Japan this spring and she would like to stay for a while - may around 2 months.

I just wanted to check if there are any limits or recommendations on how long not to stay outside the UK?

I don't want to mess up our chances to secure her ILR now that we're so close. I understand when you do have an ILR visa you can stay outside the UK for a maximum of 2 years but I'm not sure what the limit (if any) is whilst in the second 2.5 year visa.

There is no absence limit. She is free to stay for 2 months.
