Emergency Travel- Can I travel to India when my tier 4 application is still in process due to COVID?

Post by ganeshvarmavegesna » Mon Oct 05, 2020 5:37 pm

I finished my first masters in January 2020 and applied for the second masters in July 2020

My visa application is still in process,I submitted all my details and documents through the app UKVCAS provided

I have to travel to India due to an emergency situation for my father

Can I travel without BRP card?
What proof can I show when I come back to the UK
(I am trying to get a letter from the university, would that be good enough to show at immigration?)

Thank you

If you leave the UK while an application is pending, your application will be considered withdrawn.

If your previous visa has expired, you can't return anyway as you have no proof of the right to enter the UK.

A letter from the university is irrelevant.

And even if your previous visa Tier 2 has not expired, you can only use it to enter the UK to continue your Tier 2 job, which you have presumably now finished.

See my reply to the other person who posted the same query, apparently on your behalf:

You need to speak to the university urgently so they can explain your options.
