Switiching Tier 2 visa to Dependent

Hi,

I have a query that one of my friend is in Tier 2 visa and his wife is in Dependent Visa. Now if his wife becomes main Tier 2 applicant and he changes his visa to dpenedent then will his 5 years will continue to count or as soon they switch will the 5 years count start from fresh?

This one. Both of their 5 years start again from scratch.

A person cannot combine Skilled Worker main visa time with PBS Dependent time to make up 5 years for ILR.
