Tier 1 UK Immigration (please help)

Post by rahman1234 » Wed Dec 30, 2009 1:33 am

Hello All,
I am planning to apply for UK Immigration from Pakistan. I need some help.
I have a few questions. I'll be grateful if you find time to answer these.

1. Do I need to send original documents (which includes HSSC/SSC mark sheets, and the certificates), passport etc. How safe is to send original and how long these are kept by the UK authorities.
Please if possible send me the list of supporting documents I need to send.
My understanding is that I need to provide
1. Matric/FSC certificate and mark sheet(Do I have to get these attested, I am not in Pakistan so it will be hard for me to get it done).
2. Bachelors and Masters degrees. (Origianl, Do I have to attest these 2).
3. payslips and Tax returns
4. Bank balance
5. Finger prints and photographs
6. VAf9 and appendix form
7. passport (Do they accept copy of passport).
8. I am living in US. Do I have to provide the police report from here as well.
9. National ID card (Not sure if they need it).

Can I send all these documents with the application together in a package? If not, Can you tell me step by step what I need to do to have this process complete smoothly.

One more question. Is this immigration attached to visa. Does one have to go and live in UK for 3 years after her application is approved. How is this immigration tied with visa. Is this possible to secure the right of stay in UK, but one does not wish to stay in UK.(or plan to move to UK later after a year or 2, and then request a VISA).

It's possible to apply from the USA, if you are legally and a non-visitor there.

One more question.
How do I get HSMP approval letter? I am not sure what this is.
Do I need a sponsorship or a job letter as well?

Thanks.
I am living legally on H1B visa.

r1

HSMP no more exists.. it is now replaced with Tie1(G).. like HSMP, you do not need any prior approval letters for Tier1(G) Visa..

You do not need any sponsorship or a job letter to apply for tier 1. that is the beauty of this scheme. You can apply under this scheme as long as you get the required points. Check if you get enough points in the points calculator.

Do I have to send my previous expired passport as well

After a long search on the forum I'm glad to see a comment on this point...and just to confirm what I understood from the quote, I'd need to send my previous passport if I'd traveled to the UK on it, correct?

Thanks.
