Applying for UK born child

Hello,

My query is regarding my son's visa application as my (skilled worker) dependant. He was born in the UK in 10/2022, and while me and my spouse have been on Skilled-worker route since 02/2021 and 07/2021 respectively.

Questions are:

1) I have a SOC job with a 5-year sponsorship from 02/2021 to 03/2026. Mine and my wife's visa both expire 03/2026. Since we are applying with 2.5 years left on my 5-year sponsorship, would we pay the full 5-year SOC fees or 3-year SOC fees (knowing that in both cases his visa will expire same time 03/2026)?

2) Re. IHS, would we pay IHS since the date of application or from the date of my child's birth? I.E. 2.5 years from today > 03/2026; OR 3.5 years from child's birth 10/2022 > 03/2026.

3) Re. IHS, is there a discounted fee for infants from the regular £624/year?

You pay in line with the visa duration. You can possibly request a refund, no guarantees. Have you been paying for his NHS use since he was 3 months old? Children born in the UK only get 3 months free NHS use and then you have to pay if you do not apply for their visa.

No I haven't been. All I've read is that the child will not be getting healthcare beyond 3 months and although I'm finding some sources that say we have to pay after the 3rd month, there is no gov.uk for such payments independant of the visa process.
Also, using this calculator it says "Based on the information provided we have calculated that your total Immigration Health Surcharge is £1410" which is basically £470 x 3. My answers were "Yes", "No", "No", "Pakistan", "XX/10/2022", "Skilled Worker", "Skilled Worker (SOC) 5 Years", "01/03/2026".

Gov.uk says £470 per year for visa and immigration applicants who are under the age of 18 at time of application.

Also, would you happen to have any rough idea when will the fees be increasing? I aim to apply within the next 15 days as soon as the child's passport arrives.

No one knows when fee increase will be. Do note that while in the past there used to be some interval between declaration and implementation, in the past few weeks developments on immigration matters are implemented with immediate effect.
