Tier 2 visa - change of employer - starting date - urgent

Hi,

Currently my sister is on Tier 2 work permit and serving notice period - expiring on 9th Aug 2019.
1) Can I switch my job during notice period? I understand yes I can but what should be the starting date on CoS?
2) 10th Aug is Saturday and if we put 12th Aug as starting date, would it count as discontinuity in employment at the time of ILR?
3) Can we have 1st Aug starting date of new job ? while notice of current employer is finishing at 9th Aug - but technically I can join as I am on garden leave) - Please Note: I have not received the HO letter, telling the new date (curtailing period) to either find a new job or leave country.
4) Is it compulsory to have staring date in Cos after notice period finishing date? if not, it/ overlap dates between leaving current employer and starting date of new employer will not have any adverse impact at visa extensions and ILR?

1. She should plan accordingly to apply for her new visa as soon as she can once UCoS is assigned.

2. Working start date can be 12 August. There is no 'employment gap' rule for ILR.

3. Once new visa is granted, she cannot work for her old sponsor.

4. Yes if she wishes to finish her notice period before starting her new job.

You are overthinking the whole employment gap etc issue. Simply apply when ready and start working for your new employer. Just plan everything properly.

Sorry one last question, I have signed the contract with new employer for starting date of 1st Aug 2019 and my current notice period is finishing on 9th Aug 2019.

Currently I am on garden leave and can join the new employer from 1st of Aug, if Cos and Visa been issued before that time. would it be OK to join new employer before letting current employer and HO know ?
or should I just ask new employer to sign new contract staring from 9th or 12th Aug 2019?
