I guess there should be a separate topic for pap timeline as well....so people like us can get some clearity of should we expect.....
JR has nothing to do with the immigration rules. You should consult with your lawyers

Yeah correct, there should be another post/trail where applicants can share their timeline of JR. Its all about personal experiences here that each one is going through.

Its been over a month since i submitted all my documents again and I'm awaiting a decision as of now.

Nearly a year since we signed the court consent order when it was meant to be 6 months reconsideration time only.

Its frustrating that how much time they’re taking for a simple reconsideration. You submitted documents in Jan and I submitted in Feb/ early march.

Technically you should receive a reply first.

What does your lawyer say about timeline?

My solicitor asked me to wait....let them contact me ...the typical reply from solicitors that every case is different....i don't know why are they doing this to us ....i mean for a single application do they really need 2 years to decide.....they are wasting our time and we literally can't do anything....

My solicitor said the same thing. He said its due to covid things are getting delayed but what about visitor visa and other categories. They're processing them as normal without any delays.

And now the lockdown has also eased within the UK from 12.4.2021, so there shouldn't be any delay now !!

Anyhow it shouldn't take them more than 1-2 days to make a decision, the same way they do for priority visas. If you pay extra they're do the same job quickly! lol

Covid is not the problem in our case ......is there anybody else beside us who is going through same reconsideration thing.....or do moderators know any other case to whom home office has given 6 months for reconsideration and than ask for additional documents?

Sorry, did you mean they said they’ll reconsider and refused him within 3 weeks? Or they maintained the original decision?

They concluded my PAP in less than 12-14 hours. We submitted Monday evening and they replied on tuesday morning. Just means they rushed things up and didn’t even go through any refusal grounds.

They did the same for me mate. No Need to worry as they normally ignore the PAP for many. At least they took 3 weeks for your friend, for me it was 12 hours lol

If his case is strong and genuine, he’ll get it. HO is just misusing their power and refusing without any valid reasons.

Don't know how much time they need to assess simple applications !!

I have escalated my case 3-4 times now and they're sending same automated email: "Due to covid there are delays", just taking benefit of current circumstances really.

Nothing so far mate. Escalated twice, they said the delay is due to Covid.

Already over 1 year 1 month, like 7 months over the deadline. I wonder what is taking them so long to review my application.

URGENT: HOME OFFICE taking forever to make a decision, how to FastTrack the decision making process?

Post by argnihd13 » Tue Jun 08, 2021 7:24 am

Hello Moderators/Members,

After successful JR, HO agreed to reconsider my application within 6 months time but it has been over 14 months and still they didn't give me a decision. Way over the agreed time.

I have escalated the case many times over the email.
My Solicitor has contacted them several times via formal complaints, litigation, PAP etc

My Solicitor says - Go for another JR but that process is lengthy, time consuming and very expensive.

Its just very frustrating and I'm being impatient now. It has been over 2 years I'm struck in this and it's been a very stressful journey. I am trying to conclude this application as soon as i can.

Can any moderator or member please advise if there's anything i can do to FastTrack the process and get a decision quickly?

I would highly appreciate your response!

As you were told previously, JR is part of the administrative law and has nothing to do with immigration rules. Filing for another JR is pointless in my opinion. I suggest filling a complaint instead with the home office. I am afraid we can't help you to expedite a legal process

Thank you for your reply zimba.

I understand JR is part of the administrative process but i dont think Home office can take any amount of time they like to make a simple decision.

They said 6 months but its 14 months already. My lawyer has filed official complaint like 3 times but nothing happened.

There got to be someway to get this declared. I personally don’t want to go for another JR but do i have another option to consider?

I’m losing my patience now and it’s ridiculous how they’re misusing their powers and putting me in stress all this time.

You can always try going through your MP. There are no assurances that it will work but MPs are there to serve the interests of their constituents.
My comments are in no way meant to be advisory. I have no professional knowledge of immigration. These are based on my own experience, convictions and personal interpretation of publicly available information.

Thanks for your reply Marcnath.

I'm currently outside UK and have contacted 2 MPs already and they have refused to help.

I was in the UK between 2012 - 2016. My previous local MP said he can't help since I've been outside UK since 2019 and I'm not a resident anymore.

My solicitor has 1) Filed a complaint to litigations 2) Sent PAP
The only option left according to him is 3) Another JR

Is there anything else you think i can do?
