I think my case was a very straight forward one and they verified everything in the first week....
I wonder whats taking them so long to return the passport??? :(
The status is still the same "Application forwarded to Islamabad OC on..."

Can somebody tell me when the status changes can we go to the Islamabad VAC next day and get our passport instead of waiting for the call??? How to get in please advice..Thanks

@Hgo2zeeshan2004

Many thanks for your reply. I have already consulted with few solicitors but getting mix replies from them. Some think I don't need to show 3 months statements but others advising opposite. This requirement of showing maintenance funds is very confusing for existing HSMP holders.

Regarding your query, as we all know job market here in UK (like every other country) is very tough at present. People who are already here with several years of UK experience are facing risks of loosing jobs. Everyone who already has a job in UK is being advised to stick with whatever job they have. In your case you have only one year commercial experience and in this situation its really tough to get job with just one year commercial experience BUT you can have advantage of MS degree from UK. Make sure you highlight this in all job application covering letters and CV you send out. Try to apply as many jobs as possible daily without thinking about how much is the salary .

Don't restrict yourself to just communications engineering jobs. See if you can fit yourself into other jobs in IT such as programming/web development/project management etc. Many trainee positions dont need any previous experience as long as you can prove the potentials of being good learner. Even if this means trainee jobs where salary is low but there is scope to grow within the compnay and gain some UK experience.

Let me know if I can help you. Feel free to message me if you require any further help.

@web20..

Thank you so much for your reply. Yeah, I know this is gonna be a tough ask for me to get in but I believe that it is not impossible. I will give it a try with my utmost effort, top level patience and with full devotion and InshaAllah, I will get one soon. I completely agree to you of applying to IT jobs as well and try to get in. I also thank you to give the suggestion of mentioning my UK degree in covering letter.

I will highly appreciate if you can share your email id, so that, I can get in touch with you, after I land there in couple of weeks time InshaAllah...Hope u'll continue your advises and suggestions. stay in touch

I personally think that, if in your case u are getting mix advises about showing your maintenence funds, then you should prefer showing it, as it is always good to keep urself on safe side.

Good Luck for your spouse's visa case...

Guys @hhsmp & @Zeeshan ...

Do you guys know that when you delay travel more then 28 days you have to apply for extension twice before you could apply for ILR...Is that true? Can you please guide regarding this? Thanks.

I would like to know that you are talking about which travel?

The first travel??

And if yes, then i have not come across any policy like this.

Whats your to fly? Where in PK are you?

hhsmp, i am talking about the first travel...
Basically you need to complete 5 years before applying for ILR right?
And your time starts getting counted when you make your first entry right?
So if you make you entry 2-3 months late that means your visa will be getting expired 2-3 months earlier. And you apply for extension right you get an extension for 2 years. (and you will be short by 2-3 months still)

Now what i would be interested to know is that can one apply for ILR 2-3 months earlier (before 5 years get completed)? OR would another extension be required to complete the 5 years requirement?

I havent gone into guidance notes for ILR or extension yet. So i might be wrong. Please guide if you know anything regarding this. Thanks.

@hhsmp & @ree_zaa

Dear, I am planning to fly on 12th April InshaAllah and will stay in touch to you all mates here, just need prayers from all of you...As far as decision is concerned, yes it is undoubtedly difficult one, and I took that in more than 2 months, when I am having around 2 yrs of experience :s Think alot about this before travelling dear...GOOD LUCK...

About that matter, ree_zaa asked, yes this is true, there is such policy, that one need to apply for 2 extensions before applying to ILR, if he/she travels to UK after 28 days of visa stamp. Its not that much problematic dear, don't think that far, this is my advise to you all. To think abt this and taking decision in hurry, can harm much more. SO. just be patient and take your time, if you get one extension, it will be no prblm of getting second before ILR... Hope that clearify the matter a bit... Also, to your info one need to apply for ILR before 28 days of visa expiry (5 yrs), not before that, so second extension will be must. This is not from guidance notes, rather word of mouth, it might not be absolutely accurate. So, I request ppl to go through guidance notes for more accurate answers. Also, I appoligize, if something differ from the notes. Update, if so.

Feel free to ask, and stay in touch...Also, one who got their visa and planning to travel, kindly post in my other thread (successfull canditades,plzz update.....) that is for the same purpose... Thanks..

Best Regards,

My wife recently applied for dependent visa from KHI. Any information on where the applications are sent for processing? Are these still being sent to Abu Dhabi or now they are sending all applications to Islamabad?

Post by scholarshk » Sun Jun 21, 2009 7:36 am

Hi,

Anyone here submitted P.P against call-in letter after succcessful appeal ? Please update.

I submitted my Passport (successful appeal for HSMP) on 27th May from Gerry's Khi and they gave me a Visa Consignment Note as receipt.

There is no tracking system in my case that I know of.

Similar cases please reply.

SHK
