Tier 1

Hi i have 2 doubt regarding tier 1, is it necessary to show funds on my name or can i show it in my Dad's name? second, my friend has already registered his firm here, so when i apply for tier 1 which is good should i create a new company to acquire the existing firm or should i join as a partner in his firm ?
