Tier 2 ICT dependant to Tier 2 general

Post by smallichai » Mon Jan 13, 2020 4:24 pm

Hi,

Need guidance in switching from Tier 2 ICT dependant to Tier 2 General after the COS has been generated.

Already working for a firm and that firm is sponsoring the visa.

Guidance in terms of the below items:

Do we need a new appointment letter?
Are there any documents in specific?
When should be the HMRC updated on the change of Visa status ?

Any additional information would be helpful.

Thanks,
Krishna.

after the COS has been generated.
Have the CoS been approved or submitted before 5th January for the January Restricted CoS Allocation meeting?

Presumably RLMT, if applicable, has been properly completed to prove you are not pre-selected?

Thanks for your response.

Yes the COS has been submitted and has been allocated just today.

Falls under shortage occupancy and RLMT is not applicable.

Yes, HMRC should be updated as I presume the right to work will change.

Thanks Again.

HMRC has nothing to do with your visa status change. Your NI number doesn't change and that is all that matters for HMRC so that you pay tax.

Also a quick question on the start date.
I am already working with the same company on dependent visa since a year, and the new COS alloted is from Feb 17th.
Is it possible for me to get my Visa done before Feb 17th and continue my work here?

or will the Visa start date will only be from the start date of my COS ?

Also, can the my travel date into the country be after my COS start date ?

Thanks in advance :)

The visa start date will be inline with the cos. Your dependent visa will be cancelled if the tier 2 general is approved. You must only return to the UK with your new visa from the visa issue date. Your initial visa vignette will be valid for 30 days.
