How long can i stay outside UK in one trip in Tier 2 General-Dependent

Hello Team,

Please guide me on this,How long can i stay outside UK in one trip in Tier 2 General-Dependent (Tier 2 (General) PBS Dependant - Partner)?
Is there any limit like after so many days the visa will become invalid?

No more than 180 days in a 12 month period. Staying 180 days or more out of the uk breaks your continuity of residence for ilr.

Thank you for the swift reply, apart from ILR , if the days count exceed 180 will i be able to come back to the UK with the same visa? will there be any restriction like the Visa will become invalid?

Hey CR001, when you say 12 months which 12 months is considered is it from Jan to dec of any year (calendar year) or from the time you are out of the country and 12 months from there.

For example:
1) Jan 2019 - Dec 2019, between this if you are out of the country for 180 days or

2) the time you are out of the UK your counter for 12 months start which can be any time of the years

I am not sure if I am putting this across correctly. If it's not clear sorry please don't bother to reply.

There is no "becomes invalid" rules. You are overthinking.

The absence affects your eligibility to apply for ilr in the future. That's it.
