Priority service/UKVAS appointment

Post by hyccuk » Fri Mar 26, 2021 1:53 pm

Good afternoon all,

I heard that priority service is currently not available due to covid, is that the case?
I can see from the Home Office website that skilled worker visa is eligible for the priority services (both next day or 5 working days), so just a bit confused.

I also have the same question about the UKVAS appointment, are the options of same day or next day appointment available currently?

Thank you:)

No.

If it states it is available, why are you confused?

UKCVAS is a third party agent for identity check and biometric enrollment only. There is currently about a 28 day delay in getting appointments in most regions.

Thank you!

I was only confused because a friend of mine who recently applied to switch to Skilled worker visa was told by her lawyer that priority services are unavailable due to the pandemic.

The lawyer is talking nonsense.

My new company hasn't submitted the visa application yet so I am not sure. We just wanted to get an appropriate start date for CoS, that's why we were looking at priority services.

Have you been to UKVCAS for an appointment already?

Did the Home Office contact saying they need more time to consider the application? normally they do based on my friend's experience.

Hi Sudip1985,

Have you received any reply yet? I also applied for priority service (5 days decision), but haven't heard anything. Sadly, the home office helpline is useless because they are some third party people handling customer support without having access to the Visa Applications.

Hi Sudip1985,

I just got my decision letter in my inbox. My appointment was on 29th last month. You should hear from them shortly because everything got delayed due to 4 days of easter+bank holiday break.

Wish you all the best mate.
