Bank Statement Query - Student Visa

Post by gary01628 » Mon Jul 12, 2021 10:33 am

Hi all

I am new to the board and I was wondering if anyone can help me with my query.

My student visa online application submission date was 25th June 2021. The document submission date at VFS centre is due on 15th July 2021.

In relation to the 31days bank statement rule, my bank statement is from 7th June 2021 to 7th July 2021. Can someone please suggest if my bank statement dates are fine ?

I am bit confused if the bank statement must be issued with 31days from application date. So I am not sure if it must be from 24th May till 25th June (as my online application date was 25th June) ? Or I am okay to submit the one I currently have ie: dated 7th June 2021 to 7th July 2021 ?

Your repsonse & guisance is much appreciated.

Thanks

28days Rule

Post by gary01628 » Mon Jul 12, 2021 11:48 am

Hi all

As per the 28day rule for the financial requirements, my online application date is 25th June 2021 and the money has been in bank account from 6th June 2021 (this clearly does not suffice the 28days requirement)however the money was in the form of fix deposit prior to 6th June and then liquidated in the bank account on 6th June.

In order to prove the money trail am I okay to produce a letter from bank confirming that the money was first held in fix deposit and then moved to banck account number xxxx on xxxx date. And then I produce a bank statement from the date when money was liquidated. Do you think this is a right approach or I simply cancel my existing application and apply on a new date.

On the date you apply, your financial evidence must be no more than 31 days old. Just count back from the date you apply.

Given your confusion about this and the acceptable types of evidence, I strongly advise that you get one-to-one advice from the international student adviser at your sponsor institution.

My biggest confusion is what is considered as an application date?
Is it on the day you make an online visa application or the day you book your appointment to submit your biometrics and other documents at vfs center ?

Date of application is the date you submit and pay online. It is not your biometric appointment date.

It is defined in paragraph 6.2 of the immigration rules.

Thank you for providing the clarification.

In that case, am I also correct in my understanding that I just need to provide 31days bank statement and not any longer ? Thanks

You still seem to be confused between the 28 days (minimum length of statement) and 31 days (maximum age of statement). I think you should get one-to-one advice.
