Student Medical Leave

Hi

How long can you be on medical leave if you are on Tier 4 visa?

Is there any limit by Home Office to be on medical leave?

Someone I know was given 4 weeks medical leave by doctor due to fracture in foot. After 4 weeks,Doctor extended leave for another 6 weeks but time time college says that they wont grant the leave as Home Office only allows 4 weeks leave. They will cancel the visa. Even though all medical leaves were supported by medical note from note for a genuine reason.

Can anyone please give me any information on this?
