Urgent - FLRM ONLINE ONLY - BIOMETRICS

Dear All, I need some urgent info regarding Biometrics for ONLINE Applications - how does it work ? do we get a postal notification or do we get it online after completing the application? Also do we need to send original passports (Apparently from 5th Nov you can send copies)
