Urgent help required -please

Post by Sapphire » Sun Feb 23, 2014 9:07 am

Hi all

I need to check with people in here that once you get your naturalisation certificate and you are out of UK - will you be able to return back on your ILR? In simple words, does ILR gets invalidated once you receive your naturalisation cert.?

I have to apply for my son but he is planning to back to his home his home country with his mom for 5 months - we all (except him) got citizenship through naturalisation. He obviously have his ILR with him

Can someone please answer this...?

Thanks

Though with BC your ILR becomes no longer relevant but HO will not invalidate the ILR vignette or BRP.

For an outside agency (e.g. non UK immigration, Stupid) these will still be considered valid documents for travel to the UK.

Should your son become BC you can apply for passport in British embassy overseas.

My daughter is a BC registered on MN1 and she has traveled a lot last year on her foreign passport and ILR BRP and copy of her BC certificate and not had any problems re-entering the UK.

Thanks guys for all your help - so I take it as that shouldn't be a problem

If I get his British passport while he is away and when I am travelling back I will take it with me - can he use his british passport to enter UK...?

Just considering some of the options to play safe

Thanks

One needs to apply for a passport from the country he is present.
Check the FAQ before posting!
Citizenship (adults, children, passport)
EEA (EEA FP, RC, PR, Surinder Singh)
