subjectURGENT QUERY:Maintenance funds for Dependents
mailed-bygmail.com

Dear Sir/Madam,
I already have a valid Tier-1(General) visa.
Now, I am planning to apply for dependent visa for my wife and kid from India. I
need an clarification for the maintenance fund requirement. I am
currently still in India and will be travelling to UK with my Tier 1 (General) Visa soon.
I understand I need to show £1600 for each dependent. *Do I again
also need to show maintenance fund for myself *(i.e. £2800)?
So, in total, should I show a maintenance fund of £1600 for my wife, £1600 for my kid OR
£1600+£1600 + £2800=£6000?
I would be really grateful if you can clarify my doubt.
Thanks
Rao

Thank you for your enquiry.

No. You do not have to show maintenance funds for yourself, a second time.

I wouldn't trust anyone sitting on the other side of the computer as most of them don't even know what they're talking about.

Read the Guidance Notes. It categorically explains that you have to show maintenance funds for entire family all over again. With examples.

Read PBS (D) Guidance (version 04/10) - page 9 and 10 again and again here.
Goodluck.
