Sufficient evidence/documentation for Set LR

Post by Tezuka45 » Mon Mar 18, 2019 11:40 am

Dear Moderators,

My Japanese wife has just applied for Set LR as she has been here for over 10 years and wanted a visa beyond Spouse (current). I am a British citizen by birth and we have a daughter who is a British citizen based on descent.

One of the types of document we have to provide is "Document(s) showing your child/children's immigration status such as passports, biometric residence cards, or vignettes"

We have a birth certificate from the British consulate in Tokyo for our daughter which shows she claims British citizenship under British law and a RECENTLY EXPIRED British passport.

We are worried the authorities will refuse one or both of these docs as sufficient evidence and WE WOULD VERY MUCH LIKE TO KNOW THE MODERATORS' UNDERSTANDING OF THIS, please.

Thank you very much indeed.

Sincerely,
D. Williams

I truly hope you're correct; I've always found all these visa applications utterly nerve wracking, perhaps because it's such a serious issue.

I'll go with you on this CR001 -- you've not me down before 8)

I'll book the appointment now and move forwards.

Thank you CR001
