Previous Names - Are name change documents required?

Post by KEbadiParratt » Mon Oct 28, 2019 7:15 pm

I am a British citizen living in Austria with my husband. He is Iranian and has asylum in Austria. We are applying for a UK visitor visa for him so that we can visit my family together.
He had legally changed his name before we married so his 'new' name is listed on the marriage certificate along with the new surname after marriage. Is it still necessary for us to include the name change documents from his birth name to his name before we married? Or does the marriage certificate count as proof of his previous name?
To make things more complicated, we previously applied for a visit visa under his birth name and the application was denied.
We would be so grateful for any advice :)

Marriage certificate is a sufficient proof of new married name.
The opinion expressed as above is neither a professional advice nor contesting/competing to other member's opinion/advice.
