Good evening
This is my first time on here so not sure where to ask a question. My boyfriend applied for UK tourist visa and we have had an 2 emails from tls contact saying his passort is on its way back to him but no email about approval. Does this mean he had the visa granted as there was no email to say no?

Post split as the topic you tagged on is for spouse visas not tourist visas.
He won't know until he collects his passport whether the visa is granted or not. He doesn't get notified of the decision before that.

Thank you for that, I’m new to forums so apologies.
TLS contact have sent 2 emails
1 saying—TLScontact UK Visa Application Centre is pleased to inform you that your visa application process is almost over and that your passport will soon be ready to be returned to you.
2 saying— Your passport and supporting documents have now been sent to you by courier to the address you provided when you submitted your application.
We have had no email from the immigration/visa department to say yes or no and from the tracking his passport will be delivered back to his house on thursday. We are a little confused as to whether this is a yes or no as we were told the uk immigration will email or send a letter with a reply regardless before releasing the passport.

UKVI do NOT inform you of the visa application outcome by email or a letter before the passport is returned. He will only find out when he gets his passport back.

Thanks
Its very strange and confusing as a friend had a visa refused and got a ukvi email with attached letter of explanation for refusal before they received their passport back.

Heard few people reported similar thing but this vary rarely happens.
As CR001 told you, he will only know the outcome when he picks up his passport.
