Does life in the UK test expire?

Post by silentray » Sat Sep 22, 2012 2:45 pm

Hi

My wife is going to apply for the ILR next month.

She has passed the life in the UK test, but in 2 years ago even before she got the dependent VISA. The reason why she took the exam too early is that I thought she can apply as my dependent 2 years ago when I apply for my own ILR. She wasn't able to apply as my dependent because she hasn't been my Tier 1 dependent for more than 2 years at that time.

My question is whether her life in the UK test is still valid even if has been taken before she got her current ILR dependent VISA.

Many thanks.

'dr_kzot' this is nonsense. Please don't post misleading information. The test result will be accepted...i.e valid.

Hi,

I am due to apply ILR end of Oct-12 as I am completing my 5 years end of Nov-12.

Myself and my wife cleared Life in UK test during Dec-2010. We booked the test through phone and appered for test directly and cleared the test.
We have got the test clerance certficate with us.

Require senior member of the forum to clarify following :-

1. As we did not book the test through the site, will there be any issues @UKBA PEO while applying ILR in Oct-12?
2. If there are any issues, please advise mitigation.
3. Is the test certificate valid, although we cleared it nearly 2 yeras back?

Many thanks in advance.

LIUK does not expire.

If your wife has been resident in the UK for 5 years and meets the standard requirements, she can apply for citizenship in her own right.

Each person applying for citizenship has to meet the requirements, it is not dependent on your application.
